Ends and Beginnings!

I don't like feeling down. The reason I'm not dwelling on my emotions is because in approximately 6 1/2 hours it will be a brand new year! Thank goodness. Something about starting new revitalizes my soul. Of course I want to work out more, eat better, blah, blah, blah...

But self discovery and getting right with God will take the front seat this year. The others are most definitely on my list! This weekend I am getting out of town to do nothing but pray, read, listen, and sit. No city lights. No traffic. No consumer-driven shopping enticements. Just me and God.

All the 'catch-up' posts and pictures to come. But the aforementioned is in high demand!

Here's to a good and unforgettable 2009!

Thanksgiving...

This post is a week late, but here nonetheless. Sunday before Thanksgiving I spent with my dad and family in Denton. We had a Mexican fiesta, not the traditional turkey and dressing! My aunt's idea :) It was all VERY delicious!

Then on Thankgiving day I headed to Austin with my mom, sister and brother-in-law to a wedding. McCarley and Lauren went to grad school together, and she was getting married on Friday. We took advantage of the festivities and the cool city of Austin! It's so beautiful!

Reunion Baby!

I know I know...it's been a while! And I just hate going to blogs awaiting an update only to find the same old post for over a month! But my excuse - MY OTHER BLOG! It has been keeping me crazy busy! Seriously...it could be a full-time job.

This past weekend I headed to Wichita Falls for my 10-year high school reunion. It was great to see so many faces from those days! Many I have seen since then, but there were a handful I had not seen. I enjoyed meeting some babies too! Here are some pics:

Finally a Real Post!

My roommates and I (and Miss Brittani)saw Maroon 5 and the Counting Crows in concert a few weeks ago at the Superpages.com center. I personally liked the easier name, Smirnoff Center...oh wait, do I like that? Anyway, the place at fair park was home to these bands one Saturday evening in September. A great band, Augustana opened. I've seen them before at Paladium Ballroom, and this venue was too enormous for their acoustic set. But check them out!

Maroon 5 is a catchy band, nut far from one of my faves. They didn't do much for me live either. On the other hand, Counting Crows was amazing! Not only did they have cool backdrops (see below), but the songs sound better in person. They showed versatility by changing them up a bit to where at times, I didn't recognize them until half way through.

We had more fun taking silly pics before the show!

Serious Blogging

Hey Friends,

So I read in a book today about a guy who tapped into the blogging world, and now makes a living using his hobby. I knew blogging existed as a career, but didn't quite know how people got into it. Well, I am on a mission to start a successful blog and hopefully use my desire for writing to attract professionals in the industry. I also think it will be fun. I will utilize the tips I read about, and first things first....naming by blog! So PLEASE VOTE TO THE RIGHT!!!

My new site will feature reviews of TV shows, music, books, movies, and anything I find interesting. Down the road I hope to have guest bloggers as well, but I need to get established first. Thanks for taking the time to vote, and I'll keep you in the loop!
